5 Things To Do In Rimba, Jimbaran Bali, Indonesia

A great way to start the year of 2019 is a vacation in Bali, Indonesia. Among Indonesia’s 17,000+ islands, Bali is a 95 mile island located in the Indonesian Ocean. Bali is known for being the most populous island, home to over 141 million people, and for being one of the top destinations for honeymoons in Asia.

Combining with the beautiful views in Bali are the luxury hotels for tourists to stay in. Rimba in Jimbaran, Bali is one of the amazing luxury hotels to stay in. Overlooking Jimbaran Bay and only 10 kilometers from Bali’s airport, Rimba’s 8 hectares of gardens are located within the 90 hectare grounds of Ayana, its sister hotel.

But what do you do after checking in and being astounded by the extravagant room with breathtaking views of the ocean? Here are 5 things to do in the hotel that will make your vacation a brilliant one.

Pools, Pools, and Pools

Let’s start our amazing journey by sipping a tropical drink beside 12 magnificent pools. Each pool in the hotel is in a different design. Some pools are directly under the Bali sunlight while others are indoors. Beside the pools are bars where the most skilled bartenders can make your favourite cocktails and mocktails. In addition, the bar also offers delicious culinary cuisines for you to enjoy with your drink. The pools are the most visited and lively spots in the hotel, crowded by many charming families around the world.

Let’s take a walk

There are plenty of green patches encompassing the hotel. These places are easy to access and many activities can be done there. A walk under the bright sunlight is perfect for getting your daily exercise. Many other activities can be done on the lawns such as mini soccer, morning yoga, badminton and more. To add on, there is a small wooden cabin to play table tennis. You are able to be immersed into the diverse wildlife and fruits the hotel has to offer, as insects like the praying mantis crawls around the pillars of the cabin.

Soothing Spas

After moving your muscles so much, it is brilliant to enjoy the hotel’s relaxing massages and ancient healing remedies. The spa has been voted by Conde Nast Traveler readers as the World’s Best Spa. The hotel offers many treatments from hot shell massages to Balinese Massage to Marine Healing Ritual.

The most amazing spa experience the hotel has to offer is Spa on the Rocks. Surrounded by the sea, each spa villa has been intricately and ingeniously  designed to match its surroundings. The villa is made by Indonesian ‘merbau’ wood, traditional Balinese ‘alang alang’ thatched roofs, and interiors enhanced by the natural contours of the rocks on which they sit. During the massage, you can hear the gentle sounds of waves lulling beneath, feel the soft sea breezes drift through your body, and be invigorated by the scent of refreshing ocean mist whilst indulging in a treatment created exclusively for Bali Spa on the Rocks guests.

Delicious! Dining

Now let’s settle in with some delightful cuisines. In Rimba, you are able to discover Balinese and Indonesian specialities along with dishes that reflect Eastern and Western traditions. There are 17 options in the hotel to choose from, here are some of the highlighted ones.

To’ge is the most vibrant dining destination in the hotel. The restaurant is ensconced within a bright tropical garden, surrounded by clear koi ponds blooming with colorful lily flowers and lush, green lily pads. One of my favourite dishes is the oriental spiced braised lamb shank on top of saffron risotto with steamed asparagus at the side.

If you want to have a relaxing afternoon, the Orchid is the best place to go to. The Orchid is housed within a modern glasshouse, appointed with industrial details and an exotic collection of potted orchid. It is infused with warm natural light and showcases views of the flowering gardens and rice field beyond. Ordering a premier tea from Dilmah, a renowned international tea maker for over 60 years, is the best choice to help you dive deep into the books you read in.

An honorary mention is Kampoeng Bali. This restaurant is specially designed to welcome you into the warm branch of an authentic Balinese village, meander along an expansive lake setting bordered by rice paddies. You can also witness the brilliant, distinctive Balinese cultural performance while eating with Bali’s legendary sunsets as the performance stage.

Showcasing unparalleled views from 14 meters above the Indian Ocean, Rock Bar is accessible via Rimba’s dramatic cliff side inclinator. Perched atop distinctive rock formations along Jimbaran’s pristine sunset coast, Rock Bar Bali is widely respected as one of the globe’s most popular sunset, cocktail and entertainment venues. The bar offers a live band with great sounds of ocean waves crashing against the coast. On the first day of my stay, I even witnessed a hotel guest proposing to his girlfriend at the bridge of the bar.
